There will be no Easter parades in the region of Murcia this year as the regional Government tries to stem the tide of the third wave of Covid-19.
There were 667 new diagnosis in the last 24 hours, 176 more than the previous 24 hours, and seven of those were in Calasparra.
Sadly the daily death toll continues to rise as 29 people died of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours: 16 men and 13 women, aged between 59 and 95 years old.
“Saving Semana Santa” (Easter Week) is no longer the priority as saving lives takes precedence. The relaxation of precautionary measures over the Christmas period has taken its toll on the population and, it seems, lessons have been learned.
In Calasparra there are currently 60 active cases, seven of which diagnosed in the last 24 hours.
