DRUG RAID AND FOUR ARRESTS IN CALASPARRA

The Guardia Civil have raided two houses in Calasparra and arrested four residents of the town after finding 54 grammes of cocaine, marijuana and materials used in the sale of drugs.
According to official sources the local police assisted the Guardia Civil to raid and close down an outlet for selling drugs in an operation called “Girafe.” Two local men and two women, of Spanish origins, were arrested after two houses in the town were raided.
The police operation began in March after they received informed about an organised group dedicated to the distribution of cocaine and other drugs in the North West of Murcia. Their investigations led them to a house in Calasparra where the group normally met to sell to “numerous buyers from the surrounding area.”
Despite rigorous security measures taken by the group to avoid detection they were arrested on public health offences and trafficking drugs.
Also found at the two houses was 3,000 euros in cash, materials use to cut the cocaine and equipment used to process and distribute the drugs.
The four suspects have appeared before magistrates in Caravaca.
