Calasparra became a safer place today for anyone sufferi9ng a heart attack as seven defibrillators were delivered to all local schools, the local police and the Civil Protection.

According to the Mayor: «During the past year we have rolled out training courses for using the defibrillators and for other life saving tecniques to be employed by sports monitors while waiting for an ambulance. Now we are going to extend this training to include anyone who works with children in schools.»
Velez insists that the equipment is vital for saving lives as it can be used immediately on anyone whose heart stops suddenly.
He also announced that a map would be designed and published to show where the defibrillators were located, as well as including other information on emergency and health facilitites in Calasparra, which could be kept by residents to give them better peace of mind.
