Less teachers and more pupils in clases are the result of cuts in the education budget as the new school term begins.
The local High School has reduced teaching staff from 80 four years ago to 61 for this new term: four less than last term. It has also suffered a 40% cut in its budget.
On September 11 1,691 pupils enrolled in local schools, including the nursery.
