Ramón Luis Valcárcel, the President of the regional government, has announced that there is “no impediment” to the new airport at Corvera opening in the summer following a meeting with the Ministry of Defence.
According to Valcárcel, the Ministry of Defence is “more than willing” to support the new infrastructures and supports plans to close San Javier to civilian traffic.
The first flight is expected to take off from the new airport before the summer season, according to the President.
