CONFINED TO CALASPARRA AND REGIONAL FRONTIERS CLOSED

Almost a thousand Covid-19 cases today in the region and the regional government has closed the regional frontiers and banned any movement by residents outside their municipal areas.
The apparently unstoppable rise in coronavirus cases in the last few days, warnings of a collapse of health facilities and the imminent arrival of the “Puente” of All Saints (Puente = bridge and refers to the days before and after the actual fiesta, usually a Friday and a Monday, making a long weekend) has led the regional government to take drastic action.
Residents will need “a justifiable reason” for leaving the boundaries of the municipal area ie. for work, to attend university, returning home from outside the area, or in an emergency.
The confinement is expected to last at least two weeks.
