The OAPs Club in Calasparra is organizing day trips to different beaches every Wednesday during July for members and non- members alike for just 9 euros a head. More information and bookings at the club´s premises.
There are two rock and roll concerts in Calasparra during July (see previous article Cuevarrozk on this webpage) and the traditional and very Calasparrian Fiestas of the Local Patron Saints kick off this week with the opening speech at the Saints Church and the football and paddle tennis tournament already underway.
Although in the middle of this week we are promised a brief respite from temperatures in the near 40´s and on Thursday we may even get some rain nighttime temperatures are unlikely to fall much below 26 or 27 degrees. A cool 28 degrees is the top temperatures predicted for a cloudy Thursday rising to 31 degrees on Friday. However, by the weekend the scorching Calasparra sun will return with temperatures likely to climb into the high 30´s.
The full fiesta programme will be published on this webpage as soon as it is available and will include standard events such as the Night of the Migas, the Floral Offering, the early morning procession and the election of the “Kings of the Garden,” and the open air summer dance with live music in the square at the side of the Saints Church.
There will also be a full programme of bull fights. Look out for posters around the town if this is your bag!
