Father Christmas is a relatively recent addition to the Christmas calendar here in Spain where the Day of The Magic Kings is traditionally the main event, eagerly awaited by children and adults alike.
On one of the most magic nights of the year Calasparra lit up with festive emotion, colour and tradition.
The streets of the town were lined with crowds awaiting the royal presence, the colour, the music, the tradition.
The procession counted on the local dance group, La Espiga de Oro, the band, Los Pijoteros, famous Disney characters, the theatre group Trebol Theatre, the «big heads», and, of course, the carriage with the Magic Kings, Melchor, Gasparand Baltasar, and their camels (not real but life size replicas).
Here are a few memories of the this event. A full photo gallery is available on the municipal webpage, calasparra.org or on the Facebook page of the Town Hall.
