A group of Ecuadorian residents of Calasparra are to hold a collection for the victims of the recent earthquakes in their home country.
They are appealing for products for children and babies such as nappies, baby´s bottles; powdered milk; talcum powder; baby food etc. as well as non perishable food ítems; clothes and shoes; personal hygiene products; matches, candles and oral saline solutions.
The situation in the villages of Ecuador is chaotic and dramatic, says the group, who intend to deliver to the worst affected areas.
Also collaborating in the appeal are the Town Hall, various local associations and some local businesses.
The group, “Todos a Ecuador”, is also selling raffle tickets to try and offset the cost of transport.
There will be a stand this Friday in the Gran Via from 10am to 1.30pm and from 6pm to 8pm to collect contributions.
