The Guardia Civil made several arrests in an operation to dismantle a gang which has carried out robberies with force in properties in Calasparra, Cehegín, Aledo and Los Alcázares.
The arrests were made while the Guardia Civil were keeping watch on a property when, thanks to the cooperation of a resident, they received information about a robbery in progress. Two people were surprised hiding inside the house and were arrested as they attempted to escape.
These arrests led to two more arrests, including a minor. The detainees, aged between 16 and 21 years, from Bulgaria, have numerous previous convictions and form part of a criminal gang operating from Cehegin.
In another investigation two Calasparrians, a man, aged 34, and a woman, aged 33, were arrested for allegedly robbing properties using force while the residents were inside the property.
The arrests were made after a local resident reported being thrown to the ground by a couple who then entered the house and stole jewellery and cash. They were later detained by the Guardia Civivl.
