Carnival is also for pets! This is the message from the Town Hall and ther local associations, Dogs Rescue and Conquering Steps, who are organsising the first I Canicross Holi Villa de Calasparra to raise funds.
The race, in fancy dress, will on Carnival Saturday, February 17.
The race will be competitive, in that there will be prizes for the fastest dogs in two categories: under 10 kilos and over 10 kilos.
There will also be a prize for the best dressed owner and dog and three prizes reserved for entrants without dogs.
Entrance fee is 13 euros. Sign on by February 14 at the Federación de Atletismo de la Región de Murcia webpage: www.famu.es.
The course is a little less than three kilometers making the race accessible to all age groups:
This race is a mixture of sport and solidarity, which also aims to raise awareness of the need to care for and protect dogs, and will add fun by using the Holi powder colours.
