Stealthy burglars forced the front door of a house in Cañada Verde last night and stole a computer, Ipad, phone and car keys and the car while the owners slept.
This latest robbery has led the treasurer of the Cañada Verde Committee to issue some advice to residents on the urbanisation to protect themselves against burglars.
The treasurer has issued advice from a local policeman resident on the estate, who says the burlgary took place on or around 3am. Nothing was heard by the residents of the house who were sleeping at the time and was only discovered when one of them got up at around 3am.
His advice is:
If you have an alarm with sectors, set one to be on in the living room.
If you have contact alarm on the doors, set them at night.
If none of the above applies, put something that will fall and make a noise if burglars enter through the front or back door.
Use security lights.
Take all keys, door, car etc with you to the bedroom.
Don’t leave valuables out, put them in the safe or with you.
Lock the gate.
Keep the phone beside you with the number for the police. (112, they speak English)
Most of all, stay safe.
