Candles will be lit for every victim of
domestic violence this year in Spain on November 25 at 8pm in the Plaza Emilio
Perez Piñero to mark the International Day Against Domestic Violence.
The United Nations Declaration on the Elimination of Domestic Violence and
Violence Against Women, emitted in 1993, will be read at this special event.
The declaration refers to “all acts of violence which cause or could cause
injury, physical, sexual, or psychological to women, and also threats of such
violence, coercion or the arbitrary deprivation of liberty, in private life as
well as public.”
The Adult and Junior Reading Clubs will also take part in this event.
