The Museum de la Villa de Calasparra Will hoSt the photographic exhibition of Calasparrian photographer, Quintina Valero, «Life After Chernobil».
The inauguration will be at 8pm on January 10.
In April 1986 the nuclear centre at Chernobil suffered the worst nuclear disaster of all time. Thirty eight years after the accident the radiation continues to be an invisable enemy for many Ukrainian families. This impact is reflected in desolate landscapes and the decline of one of the most fertile areas of Ukraine is captured in the photos of this exposition.
The photograher, Quintina Valero, has undertaken various trips to Ukraine beween 2015 and 2016 to document the impact of the radiation on the population and the environment.
The artist from Bilboa, Julio Tomé (Blister 13.0), inspired by the photos and recordings of Quintina, has produced musical compositions for each one of the photos.
The artist and poet, Columbian/Spanish, Adriana Hoyos, has created 10 poems to accompany the exhibition.
