Members of the local sports club, Blade Runners, joined Calasparrian Juan Eulalio (Pilli) to run 10 kilometers around Lorca in the National Wheelchair Games in a special sports wheelchair.
The wheelchair, Joelette, has just one wheel and facilitates anyone with reduced mobility or disability to take part in races and walking routes with the assistance of at least two companions.
According to Blade Runners it was an opportunity to take part in inclusive sports and give a club member with mobility problems a chance to run with other club members.
Ana, Marcos, Oskar and Pilli took part and told Radio Calasparra: “The solidarity shown to all our disabled colleagues and those with restricted mobility was incredible and emotive.”
