Calasparra has been recognized for the quality of its tourist facilities within the national scheme, SICTED, Sistema Integral de Calidad Turística Española en Destinos, (Integral System of Quality Tourism in Destinations),in the gift of the Spanish Government, that aims to improve the quality and sustainibility of tourism services.
The new SICTED marks were awarded to the Archeological Musuem for the strength of its services and local resources to improve the visitor’s experience; The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Hope; and La Tasca de Noah, restaurant.
These three spaces represent the diversity of the touristic offer of Calasparra and its links to the patrimony, culture and gastronomy.
Other services in Calasparra that currently hold the SICTED recognition are the Tourist Office, the Puerta Cave, Qalat Naturaleza and Aventura,and Cañon y Cañon Multiaventura.
The General Director of Quality and Competitive Tourism, presenting the SICTEDs, Eva Reverte, underlined the potential of Calasparra as an interior tourist destination and recognised the incorporation into the system of resources that were more representative and directly linked to the local identity of Calasparra.
