CALASPARRA IS REVVING UP FOR 23rd PATRONAL FIESTAS

The September fiestas, held in honour of the Patron of Calasparra, Our Lady of Hope at the local Sanctuary, remains one of the biggest nationally and will maintain six bull runs and six bull fights.
Some 15 different organs of the press, national and regional, attended the official presentation of the fiestas held in Murcia last Friday.
The bull runs will be every morning for six mornings between September 3 and 8 and the fights at 6.30pm.
The Mayor of Calasparra has called Calasparra the “Pamplona of the region of Murcia.” He has recognized the “difficulty of organizing a week long festival during the current social and economic situation.”
Despite the 13% rise in IVA tickets for the bull fights will cost the same as last year: 23€ in the sun and 27€ in the shade.
El Quite, the local taurean association, has announced the inauguration of two exhibitions; Taurean Photography and Taurean Painting on August 31.
The official opening speech of the fiestas will be on September 2 at the Sanctuary and the traditional Pilgrimage to the Sanctuary will be on September 7.
