Local councilors attended the
inauguration of the headquarters of “Murcia: Gastronomic Capital” held in the
Roman Theatre, Murcia last week.
The Mayor of Murcia, Juan Josë Ballesta, said Calasparra had a principal role
to play in national gastronomy.
He went on to encourage all local towns and villages to develop gastronomic
projects during the year.
“Murcia: Gastronomic Capital” will host activities such as workshops, show
cooking, exhibition of products, ideas forums, chats and discussions, artistic
demonstrations and cultural events,
which are related to gastronomy.

Commerce; José Martínez, President of the D.O Arroz Calasparra; and Sergio López, Techynician at the D.O Arroz
Calasparra, attended the event.
