Calasparra is one of the top four wettest places in the Altiplano, which stretches from Caravaca to Mazarron, Lorca to Caravaca and includes the capital Murcia.
Up until 7am thus morning, Wednesday, some 34.8 litres of rain fell per square metre in Calasparra. This compares to 37..8 in Murcia town; 40.6 in Yecla and 41.8 in Jumilla.
The Met Office has today extended the weather warning for heavy rain and storms until Thursday night. Skies are expected to remain cloudy on Friday but there is less pñossibility of showers.
