Calsparrian author, Pedro Antonio Martínez Robles, has just received the first copy of his new book from his publishers: a novel set in Calasparra during the “hungry years” of 1945 to 1952.
Entitled “Luz de Cobre” (Copper Light) the author writes of “hunger, poverty and great necessity” when Spain was a depressed place and the mud roads were illuminated by a “copper light.”
The protagonist is a man who finds himself at the doors of old age and remembers his infancy and adolescence in incredible detail.
