During 2017 some 18,000 euros was raised by events in Calasparra in aid of Cancer research.
The funds were presented to the Investigation Group at the Hospital Morales Meseguer at an event last Friday organised by the local collective: “Calasparra Se Mueve.”
José Velez, Mayor of Calasparra speaking at the event, confirmed that all funds raised from the Blue parking zones in Calasparra during 2018 would be donated to the cause.
Juana Moya of “Calasparra se mueve” said she felt very satisifed to have exceded the total funds raised in previous years.
“We are impressed. Calasparra has shown exceptional solidarity,” said one of the doctors involved in the research project. “This is a significant amount of money which will fund investigations.”
Among the events organised in Calasparra were the Pink March and the sale of the Solidarity Calendar.
