Work on the the 46 kilometre stretch of the A33 Antiplano motorway between Blanca and Jumilla, which will cut journey times between Murcia and Valencia by 22 minutes, will be completed by the spring.
Some 73% of the work has already been finished and the final section, between Blanca and Abrarán is currently underway.
The project will cost 83.8 million euros and aims to divert motorway traffic away from urban areas and the N344 which is currently used by 6,000 vehicles daily.
