If you miss the Super Snow Moon tonight you will have to wait until 2026
for a repeat performance!
Tonight, February 19, the super moon, called the Snow Moon because it occurs
during the heavy snows in the northern hemisphere, will be visible to the naked
eye.
This phenomenon occurs when the full moon is at its closest point to Earth, which
makes it appear bigger and brighter.
The moon, which has been visible over the past two nights, will be at its most
splendid tonight, Tuesday, when it will be at 355.665 kilometers from earth and
will appear 14% bigger and 30% brighter than the average full moon.
