We regret to report another death of a Calasparrian due to Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.
There are currently 42 confirmed cases in Calasparra, seven of which were diagnosed in the last 24 hours.
Calasparra has passed into a state of Red Alert – Extreme Risk of Covid-19.
Regionally 15,000 residents have resulted positive for Covid-19 in a PCR test in the last two weeks, this represents one percent of the population.
There has been a 30% increase in hospital admissions in the last two days.
The regional statistics are 1,901 cases confirmed in the last 24 hours bringing the total number of active cases to 13,203. Some 583 people were admitted to hospital, 98 to intensive care.
There have been 797 deaths from Covid-19 in the region.
The President of the regional government has restricted all social activities to people who live together and has asked the President of Spain to consider a “lockdown” in the Murcia region.
Calasparra Town Hall has appealed to residents to limit their activities and to “stay at home” as much as possible in the light of the gravity of the current situation.
