AN ATIPICAL CHRISTMAS IN CALASPARRA

The festive season in Calasparra will have a different flavour this year as activities and events are tailored to comply with the limitations of the precautions for Covid-19.
However, the traditional Calasparrian events will survive, albeit it in a different format.
The Model Nativity and Crypt will be on display as usual; there will be theatre, cinema, shows, traditional gastronomy, music, exhibitions, children´s workshops, and, of course, Father Christmas and the Three Magic Kings will pay their traditional visit.
The very Calasparrian “Juan Pelotero” and his antics will be in town causing havoc on December 28.
The Calasparra School of Music have prepared auditions which will be transmitted on local television and YouTube.
The Collection of Toys and Games organized by the Red Cross and Caritas will take place between December 14 and 30 in the Town Hall.
Visits to Father Christmas and the Three Magic Kings will be staggered this year and by invitation which may be collected from Cine Rosales.
The Theatre Group “Alegría” will present “El Triciclo” by Fernando Arrabalel next Saturday December 19 in the Municipal Auditorium.
The actor,  José Angel Moya, will present “Lazarillo de Tormes”, adapted by Fernando Fernán Gómez in the Municipal Auditorium on December 26 and 27.
The “Belen” Model Nativity will be set up in the Exhibition Hall in Calle Mayor and can be visited Monday to Friday from 5 to 9pm; Saturdays from 11am to 1pm and 4 to 8pm; and Sundays 11am to 1pm.
On January 4 the theatre Company, Periferia Teatro, will present “Nube,Nube” in the Municipal Auditorium with puppets, For over 4´s and families.
Over the Christmas period all the traditional local and regional cakes, biscuits and culinary dishes are available from local shops, bars and restaurants.
The Mayoress of Calasparra and her team at the Town Hall ended the presentation of festive events by wishing everyone a Happy Christmas.
