There will be a new tariff structure with different prices and the three periods for customers who contract 15kW or less beginning on June 1.
The changes will affect all PVPC customers (Precio Voluntario para el Pequeño Consumidor) and aim to help energy savings, efficiency, auto consumption and the use of electric vehicles.
The peak periods, when the cost of electricity and standing charges are highest, will be from 10am to 2pm and 6pm to 10pm.
The “flat” period, with an intermediate cost, will be from 8am to 10am and 2pm to 6pm, and between 10pm and midnight.
The cheapest period (tarifa valle) will be between midnight and 8am, throughout the weekend and on fiesta days.
The lowest nocturnal tariff is particularly aimed at owners of electric cars who can charge them overnight. From June 11 customers can contract different potencies for different periods, which would, for example, facilitate charging your car overnight at the cheaper rate for a higher potency but maintaining a lower potency for the rest of the day.
A new, simplified electricity bill will accompany these changes.
