A special and urgent full Town Hall meeting was called last night with just one item on the agenda: the current management of the Old People’s Residence in Calasparra.
For once the governing PSOE and the opposition PP were in agreement and a motion to start the process of rescinding the contract from the company currently running the OAPs residence, was passed unanimously.
The Town Hall had announced previously that it was dissatisfied with the management of the residence and the situation of the staff who have not been paid since Christmas.
Once the current contract is rescinded the new contract for running the OAPs home will be put out to tender.
