Teachers, pupils and parents gathered outside the local High School today to protest against the new head teacher imposed on the IES High School by the regional education authority.
Calling the decision “undemocratic” and the timing, during the school holidays, “cynical” they called on the new head teacher of IES to resign immediately.
The former head of the school read a manifesto at the protest which claimed no notice was given of the substitution for which there had been no preparation and no contact with the sschool.
The decision, which was arbitrary and undemocratic, imposed a substitute who had no previous management experience, no links with Calasparra and no knowledge of the area, continued the manifesto.
Following the protest some 30 teachers from the school travelled to the Department of Education in Murcia to meet with Enrique Ujaldón, Director General of Educational Planning and Human Resources.
