The traditional homage to the Women of Calasparra, celebrated annually to mark International Women’s Day, honoured all the women who support members of the Esperanza Society for People with Disabilitites.
On Sunday in the Town Hall Chamber the Head of the Equality Department paid tribute to the mothers and sisters who are “almost invisible in our society” but who spend years “ensuring the lives of the young members of the Society make sense.”
Later at a special celebration in the OAP’s Club there were flowers, words of gratitude and support.
