A Nexonr reader tells us that he husband tackled a burglar in the process of robbing their home on the Tierra del Sol urbanisation in Calasparra.
The thief, who escaped after punching her husband in the stomach, stole jewellery that had been hidden in various parts of the house.
He apparently attempted to enter through the front door but failed and actually entered through a small window without a grill.
The crime has been reported to the Guardia Civil who are investigating.
The house was only left unattended for a two hours.
Residents on the urbanisations are warned that criminals may be watching houses to monitor when they are left unattended and to ensure that everything is locked and that every window has a security grill. If you are leaving the house for any length of time ask neighbours to look out for suspicious activities.
