The fire brgiage was called out to the Las Torretas area, on the Valentin road, after it was struck by lightening during the storm at the weekend.
The emergency servcies received several calls, at 6.15pm on Sunday night, after lightening struck a pine tree causing a fire. Luckily, due to the heavy rain, the area was so saturated that the fire was quickly extinguished.
The fire brigade and a forestry officer were called out to the fire and personnel remained at the scene to dampen down.
