The Met Office is predicting a rise in temperatures by more than six degrees in the North West Murcia, Vega de Segura and Altiplano areas, which includes Calasparra.
The torrential rain over the last seven days, in some areas as much as 100 litres per square metre, is slowly moving away, and temperatures are expected to hover around the mid 20’s for the rest of this week and Easter week.
The unsettled weather should be replaced by an anticyclone bringing dry and warm weather with a balmy 27 degrees expected this weekend.
The rain has, however, alleviated the drought that was affecting the area and replenished the reservoirs which were as low as 50% and are now reporrted to be nearer 75% full.
