ALLEGED CORRUPTION IN CARAVACA COSTS ANOTHER REGIONAL HEAD

The Secretary General of the regional Department of Promotion, Public Works and Ordenance, Amador López has resigned, after being charged, along with 30 other people, in a corruption scandal in Caravaca.
Lopéz was a local councillor for the Partido Popular in Caravaca for various legislatures.
Also implicated in the case, known as “El Robelcillo,” is the subdirector general of Urbanization and Ordenance, José María Ródenas, and the Head of the Director General of Housing, Margarita Ros.
This brings the number of resignations over corruption scandals at regional level this week to six.
The Mayor of Caravaca, Domingo Aranda, also implicated in the scandal, is refusing to resign despite public demonstrations in Caravaca.
The alleged corruption centres on permissions issued by Caravaca Town Hall to urbanize the Finca Robelcillo, an area subject to various environmental protection orders.
The case is currently being investigated by a judge
