In the latest chapter of the ongoing saga into Murcia´s two airiports, San Javier and the unopened Corvera, the regional Government has been required to send additional information to the EU concerning the protocol for the closure of San Javier.
The protocol, which was signed in 2011, would close San Javier airport to civil traffic.
The EU needs to give the OK to a 180 million euro loan which Aeormur would receive to cover the deficit during the first operational years of the new Corvera airport. The loan depends on the commercial predictions for the new airport which in turn depends on whether San Javier closes or not.
