If you are celebrating the New Year in Calasparra this year don´t forget the Town Hall offers cava, cakes and grapes at the Clock Tower at midnight in Calle Mayor.
In some parts of Spain they are attempting to change the traditional 12 grapes for 12 segments of mandarin to be eaten as the clock strikes 12. I suspect in Calasparra tradition will hold strong and the grapes will be the order of the night.
