The predicted 3.2% rise in electricity prices came into effect on August 3 and will affect this month´s electrcity bills.
The rise follows hard on the 1.2% rise introduced in July this year and a 3% rise in January. The trend was bucked by a fall in prices of 6% in March.
This new rise means that the cost of electricity for domestic customers has increased by 8% since January last year and a massive 63% between 2003 and 2011.
