THANKS TO NEXO CALASPARRA IS THE MOST INTEGRATED TOWN IN MURCIA SAYS MAYOR

The Mayor of Calasparra heaped praise on the NEXOnr team at the official presentation of the new webpage describing NEXO s an “inspirational name, for an inspirational project , thanks to which we have the most integrated UK residents in Murcia and possibly in Spain.”

More than 300 local residents, owners of local businesses, bars and restaurants, politicians from all three parties, two local television companies and Radio Calasparra accepted NEXOnr’s invitation to an official bilingual presentation of the NEXOnr webpage at the Alandalus Restaurant, Tierra del Sol, on Saturday.

The editorial team introduced the NEXOnr website, which will substitute the monthly publication NEXOnr, as a virtual shop window for Calasparra and a showroom without limits for advertisers.

“NEXOnr will attract readers from all over the region, all over Spain and in the UK: readers already living in Spain; their family and friends; readers with a holiday home in Spain: and any readers who are considering either of the former. There is no limit to the readership on the Internet and regular visitors to the website, from outside the town, will get to know all Calasparra has to offer and will want to come and spend some time here.

“More tourism means money in the tills for struggling local businesses and more jobs for people in the town. This is the power of the Internet when the webpage is written in one of the most widely spoken languages worldwide: English.”

The NEXOnr team also had praise for the local UK community “who support the community by volunteering for the Red Cross; take part in local cultural and traditional events and support our town by using local, shops and services,” and for “the Town Hall and all our advertisers “who have stuck with us through thick and thin enabling us to bring news and information to the UK community in Calasparra for the last six years.”

The Mayor signaled that Calasparra “was unique in Murcia and probably in Spain because it had an English language news and information service that facilitated integration and helped make everyone feel like a Calasparrian. We want the UK community to know we consider them Calasparrians.”

After the presentation, over prawns, paella, wine and beer, the Mayor and the NEXOnr team mingled with the guests to celebrate this exciting new project which will ensure the local UK community are kept up to date and will promote the tourist product that is Calasparra.

The NEXOnr team would like to thank all our guests, our advertisers, press, local dignitaries, politicians  and friends for their support on Saturday and over the last six years.

A special thanks to Alfonso at the Alandalus Restaurant for his generosity, professionalism and the seamless organization which contributed enormously to the success of the day and to the businesses who made donations of wine, beer and food: the Alandalus Restaurant, Discernor,  Cooperativa del Campo “VIRGEN DE LA ESPERANZA”, Congecar s.l., Panaderia Joaquin, Calfas Distribuciones s.l., Panaderia Gabarron, Morales s.a., Aviper s.l. the Town Hall, Radio Calasparra and the two television companies.

There are ample municipal, private and public Internet access points in Calasparra and more in the offing. The local computer shops can copy the webpage onto a CD for readers without Internet access at home and/or print off an article/s for readers who find written texts more convenient. However, regular updates will only be available to regular visitors to the website.
