PETROL PRICE FALL BUT STRIKE LOOMS

Prices at the pumps have fallen this month by 0,42% on petrol and 0,22% on diesel, according to data from the EU Petrol Bulletin.
After three weeks of Price rises over three consecutive weeks in May with fuel reaching the highest level since the beginning of April, June brings a welcome relief for motorists.
A litre of petrol now costs 1,424 euros and diesel costs 1,326 euros a litre representing a 0.9% drop during June on petrol and 1.6% on diesel.
Fuel prices in Spain continue to be the lowest on average in Europe where petrol costs 1.597 and diesel costs 1.417 a litre in the euro zone.
Meanwhile more trouble looms for motorists as the trade uniions, UGT and CCOO, threaten strike action which will close petrol stations during July.
The unions claim that negotiations around an agreement on pay and conditions in the sector have “broken down.”
The UGT and CCOO are currently studying the calendar to set dates for the strike. When these dates are available they will be published on this webpage.
