ARTIST ATTENDS STREET NAMING CEREMONY

Murcian artist, Pedro Cano, came to Calasparra to attend a special ceremony officially opening a street named after him.
Yesterday, Sunday, the Mayor of Calasparra, Jesus Navarro, said the ceremony “not only paid homage to an universal artist but also aimed to strengthen links with his birthplace, Blanca, which already shared so many things with Calasparra.”
Pedro Cano will attend the Pantheon in Rome on July 1 where he will receive a special award from the Vatican´s Fines Arts and Letters of the Virtues of the Pantheon.
The artist, who thanked Calasparra “from his heart” for the tribute, was accompanied by the Mayor of Blanca, friends and family. They visited the Rice Museum, the Archeological Museum and the exhbition of local illustrator, Begoña Fernández Corbalán, in the Sala del Commendador.
