Local primary school, the Esperanza, won first prize in the Nativity section of the annual competition organized by the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Hope.
The individual prize for the “Belen” (Crypt) was won by Antonio Martínez Martínez.
As reported yesterday the local Chamber of Commerce received the prize for “Belenist of the Year.”
The Junior Section of the Association Band of Music of Calasparra played at the award ceremony last week.
The prize for the local Chamber of Commerce was presented by the Mayor of Calasparra, Jesus Navarro, in recognition of the organization´s work “preserving the traditions of Christmas in Calasparra. ” This included the procession of the Three Magic Kings who used the “traditional and economical transport” of donkeys this year and remained at the Cine Rosales until 9pm in order to receive the children of Calasparra one by one.
