The 170 kilometre march against poverty, organized by the Platform Against Repossessions (PAH), will pass by Calasparra on November 8 en route from Moratalla to Cieza.
The march, under the slogan “Unemployment, Precariousness and Cuts” will start from Alcantarilla at 8am on November 5. The first part of the route finishes at Alhama de Murcia and then goes onto to Totana on November 7 continuing through to Lorca. On November 8 the march heads for Moratalla and then onto Cieza passing by Calasparra.
Unemployment in the region of Murcia stands at 29% and there are 62,000 families without any income or benefit. Some 536,000, some 36% of the population, live below the poverty line, according to the Platform.
