The composition of local musician and engineer, Pedro Gómez, has been selected as a finalist in the FIDAH Competition organized by composer and music professor, Teresa Catalán.
The competition aims to encourage young musicians and offers the opportunity to demonstrate their talents through exhibitions, concerts and other artistic functions.
All the participants in the competition were pianists with a limit of seven minutes.
Pedro Gómez’s composition,“Itaca,” one of the eight finalists, is inspired by a poem by Kavafis.
The prize awarded by the Foundation is an international debut.
Thee award ceremony will be on December 10 in the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid.
