The flooding yesterday has resulted in structural damage and road closures in the region and readers should be aware that several major roads in the region have been closed.
A bridge over the toll motorway Cartagena-Vera (Almería), the alternative route to the A-7 shut off to traffic yesterday due to the rain, collapsed at 4.20pm yesterday afternoon at the 8.92 kilometre point and traffic accessing Lorca cut off.
Another bridge between Lorca and Puerta Lumbreras at the 584 kilometre point of the A7 also collapsed. Traffic in the direction of Almeria is curtailed cut off.
The toll motorway between Cartagena and Vera has been opened as an alternative route and the tolls have been suspended.
In the area of the riverbed of Nogalte, in the basin of the river Guadalentín, up to 1777.35 litres of water has been registered during the last 24 hours.
According to the weather forecasts the worst of this current spell of rain and storms has past but the Met Office is predicting a wet autumn ahead.
Although there were deaths and serious structural damage as a result of the storms yesterday in our region the worst hit area has been Malaga which was devastated by flooding causing deaths, mass evacuations and considerable structural damage.
