Teresa García, Mayoress of Calasparra, has asked the President of the (CHS) Segura Water Board to expand the project for the recuperation of the river beach; expand the areas of the river for practising white water sports; and repeated her demand for a bridge from the Esparragal road across the river to the RM-714 needed by local farmers.
The President agreed to hold a site meeting to examine these demands and determine their viability.
She also put forward a proposed agreement with the Canoeing Federación of the Murcia region for maintenance and conservation work on the area of the river Segura used for white water sports.
The Mayoress also informed the President of some of the measures of «renaturalization» on the river Segura, due to start next year, and funded by the EU.
