There will be a national fiesta day on Wednesday August 15 to mark the Asuncion of Our Lady of Hope so expect many shops, services and commercial centres to be closed.
The Government is planning to move all mid week national fiesta days back to Monday or Friday to discourage the traditional “bridge” which spans from the weekend to the national fiesta day and, according to the Government, makes Spain uncompetitive in the international market and affects national revenue.
