There will be a minimum train service nationally despite a strike called for today, Friday, in protest at plans to “liberalize the railways.”
The Government has forced trade unions to agree to provide a “minimum service” during strike days which reduces the effect of the industrial action. Some 60% of local trains and 75% of middle distance services are expected to run normally. Some 25% of the AVE services will be affected.
Passengers who have bought tickets in advance and are affected by the strike can claim a refund or exchange their ticket. More information call 902 320 320, or see the Internet: ´http://www.renfe.com´ or on Twitter, en @Renfe.
The next strike day will be on September 17.
