The oldest mountain marathon in the Murcia region takes place in Calasparra every year in memory of Antonio de Bejar and this year around 350 athletes took part.
The XXI Half Mountain Marathon and the 10.5 kilometre race have become the epicentre of regional trials in the region.
The day began with a non competitive Walking Route and continued with the 21 kilometre mountain trial across the Sierra del Molino. Following on was the 10,5 kilometre race and the 13 kilometre walkers march.
These trials are organised by the Club Alpino of Calasparra and Calasparra Town Hall in colaboration of the Regional Athletics Federation, in memory of Antonio de Bejar, mountaineer and passionate nature lover and member of the Club Alpino.
