FIRST DETAILS OF TOWN HALL’S AUSTERITY PLAN REVEALED

The cost of five local municipal services, including refuse collection, will increased as part of the Town Hall’s austerity plan.
The Partido Popular voted with the governing PSOE at the full meeting of the Town Hall on Thursday and the first part of the economy measure designed to cut the deficit was approved. The United Left voted against the measures.
From September residents of Calasparra in the old town will pay 6.45 euros for refuse collection and residents in the rest of the municipal area will pay 7.50 euros. Shops will pay between 17.50 and 22.50 euros; cooperatives between 45 and 150 euros; bars between 25 and 40 euros, and banks will pay 200 euros monthly.
Water bills for customers of Aqualia are also due to rise. The full details will be published later this week.
The cost of nursery education in Calasparra will also be affected and parents with children in the Colors Nursery will have to pay
110 euros this year; 130 in 2014 and 150 in 2015.
Cemetery prices have will also increase from September with a grave costing 950 euros and a vault costing 3,800 euros.
Music classes at the Calasparra School of Music are also affected as new pupils pay 23 euros per term and students of musical language and instruments will pay 51 euros a term plus a further 8 euros per music group.
