The Municipal Canoe Club of Calasparra finished fourth in the Kayak section of the national White Water Championships held on the river Segura last weekend.
Calasparra was the host for this historic sporting event, The Spanish Cup Slalom and Kayak, with hundreds of canoeists taking part from all over the country including Galicia, Catalaña, Madrid, Aragón, Castilla-La Mancha and Castilla and León, amongst other regions.

During the weekend local canoeist, Clara González, logged two medals in the canoe and kayak categories while her companion, Pedro Samchez, classified for the final in the K1 and C1 categories of Canoe and Kayak.
On Sunday, in the Kayak Cross, all the representatives of the local canoe club logged the best results and reached the final stages of the competition. Finally the Calasparra Canoe Club finished as the fourth best club in Spain.
