Calasparra Town Hall has officially presented the Rutas de Arroz 2025 Programme, a touristic experience that combines nature, patrimony and gastronomy in the context of the cultivation of the Calasparra Rice DOP.
This year the routes received prestigious recognition, the «Sendero Azul» for the «El Bayo» footpath that combines a commitment to ambient education with sustainable tourism.

The Mayoress of Calasparra, Teresa Garcia, with councillors from the local government team, Juan José López and Nani Sánchez, the Head of the Esperanza Rice Cooperative, Juan Antonio Cantero, the Head of the Arroz Flor of Calasparra, María Haro, the President of the Regulating Commitee DOP, José Martínez, the Director of the Technical Regulating Committee DOP, Sergio López and Pedro López Navarro, owner of the land in the area “El Bayo”, presented this new editition of the Rutas de la Arroz.
The programme begins on May 30 with the Ruta de los Espejos (Walk of Mirrors) on the area of El Bayo, and continues with multiple activities such as visits to the Molino Arrocero del Soto, (Rice Mill); excursions from the Isla Tío Juan Vacas (near the Canoe Club); the experience of the harvest; and, closng the cycle with a visit to the Abrigos del Pozo, World Patrimony by UNESCO:Patrimonio Mundial por la UNESCO.
This year the route finishes with a theatrical presentation by the Municipal Comedians Workshop at the archeological site of Villa Vieja on June 6.
